EVENTS & EDUCATION

The Events & Education component of the Board of Operations coordinates all educational and interactional events of the North Texas Green Council. As such, the team seeks to provide quality green building educational opportunities to members and groups throughout the region. The team is managed by the Commissioner of Events & Education and consists of three primary groups responsible for various educational opportunities. The following descriptions provide additional information regarding the specific committees, preferred skills for participation, and opportunities to communicate sustainable green building practices to others.

EVENTS COMMITTEE

The Event Committee, working in conjunction with the Membership Committee, coordinates various Chapter presentation events.  Primarily through a series of monthly programs, the committee develops and produces informative presentations from recognized experts covering a range of sustainability issues. From the philosophical to the practical, the Events team strives to produce programs with diverse perspectives, through a variety of formats that expand the green building practices within our community.

EDUCATIONAL COMMITTEE

The Educational Committee focuses on a fundamental component to the mission of the U.S. Green Building Council - education. We seek to deliver relevant information on all aspects of green building design and sustainable development to the broadest extent possible in our community, to transform the construction industry in our regional marketplace to help achieve a sustainable built environment.

EMERGING GREEN BUILDERS COMMITTEE

The Emerging Green Builders Committee is comprised of students and young professionals under the age of 25 or 5 years out of school dedicated to becoming future leaders within the green building movement. The Committee mission is to create a network of emerging green building leaders and develop integrative opportunities for involvement through the USGBC North Texas Chapter in order to further generate momentum for the green building industry.
