COMMUNICATIONS

The Communications component of the Board of Operations coordinates comprehensive North Texas Green Council communications to the membership and readership of our Chapter. The team is managed by the Commissioner of Communications and is comprised of two separate functioning level committees. Under the Communications team, the Visual Communications group provides integrated graphical information services and the Publications team delivers overall media messaging of the chapter.  The following descriptions provide additional information regarding the specific committees, preferred skills for participation, and opportunities to communicate sustainable green building practices to others.

VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Visual Communications Committee provides graphic imaging services for organizational content used with promotions, website, events, and other Chapter venues. Committee members participate in activities ranging from Chapter branding to website maintenance to graphic design to event photography. The Visualization Committee provides an engaging atmosphere for all users to learn, expand, and participate in the green building industry. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic individuals with a sustainable environmental passion. Skills required for participation in the Visual Communications Committee vary considerably, depending on the function.  Some of the preferred skills requested for participation are listed below.

  • Fluency with Standard Professional Graphics software including but not limited to Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign
  • A creative eye for photography
  • Sense of Design & Innovation
  • Enthusiastic Attitude
  • Strong Web Design understanding
  • Content Creation Software expertise

PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Publications Committee provides the content and delivery of media publications for the Chapter. As part of the overall Communications operations board, the Publications Committee prepares and issues the Chapter magazine, digital communications, email newsletters, and various press releases. Working in concert with Graphics & Website Committees, this group coordinates all Chapter digital and print publications. Skills required for participation in the Publications Committee vary considerably, depending on the publication typology.  However, a few of the skills requested for participation are included below.

  • Writing acumen
